Will Suicide Squad 2 Bring Back This Unexpected Character?

Shazam may be the next big DC film to hit the sound stages, but Suicide Squad 2 is likely heading towards a fall 2018 production date, which isn’t too far off.

As we’d expect, the big players like Will Smith an Margot Robbie are pretty much confirmed. However, there is no word on the secondary players like Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney. However, in an interesting new Instagram post from Kinnaman, we get some implications that they’ll be back. Check out the post below:

While Kinnaman doesn’t state that the working out is all in anticipation of Suicide Squad 2, the presence of a third man seems to imply as such…sort of. That third man is none other than Jay Hernandez, who played El Diablo in the first Suicide Squad.

The fact that three guys from a previous film are getting whipped back into shape is enough to make us think this could be for the sequel, but Hernandez’s presence is a little puzzling, if true. If you’ve seen the film, you know that El Diablo faced an untimely death in the climax of the film. Is this a confirmation that he somehow survived that final battle? We’ll have to wait and see.
