Woody Harrelson Is Having A Great Time Filming Zombieland: Double Tap

Out of all the genres cinema is comprised of, I would say horror is my least favorite, and of the sub-genres of horror the zombie film would be at the bottom of my list. However, every so often a film comes along that changes my mind, a fresh and orignal take on the genre. One of those films was 2009’s Zombieland. While still featuring a group of people surviving an apocalypse of the undead, the cast and writing brought something new and made it a classic.

A while back we received confirmation that a sequel titled, Zombieland: Double Tap was on its way and now with shooting underway we’re sure to get bits and pieces of information along the way to its release. Hollywood veteran and likely soon to be legend Woody Harrelson recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly while promoting his his latest film The Highwaymen, and Woody seems to be having a dandy of a time shooting the Zombieland sequel.

“What we’ve shot so far, I’m really impressed with. Getting to hang out with these guys – Emma, and Abbie, and Jesse, and Ruben – I feel so lucky, really, really lucky. You know, it’s literally laughing all day long, and that’s your job. Like, my job is, I laugh all day long? It seems unbelievable. So, I feel really lucky right now.”

As I mentioned above, I’m not a huge fan of zombies, though as many of you know I am a fan of the walking dead, but the walkers are the least interesting thing about the show, so it’s a bit differnet as well. Another great take on the zombie film is Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright’s Shaun of the Dead which did well at mixing comedy with some scenes that looked liek they were out of a straight up zombie film.

Zombieland: Double Tap hits theaters October 11.
