A couple of cell phone videos from the set of Marvel/Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming have hit the net, and one of them is downright wacky. Not much is known about the plot of the Spider-Man reboot, outside of the fact that it takes place after the events depicted in Captain America: Civil War. We also know that now that Marvel finally has its hands on Spidey, the film is likely to have a more humorous vibe. The odd video in question seems to support that, as it looks like Spider-Man: Homecoming is going to include a sequence with a comical visual gag.

Here’s the Spider-Man: Homecoming set video everyone’s talking about:

For those of you without the ability to watch the video because of work computer restrictions or whatever, here are some stills from the sequence in question:

So it looks like there’ll be a scene in Spider-Man: Homecoming where we see Peter Parker (Tom Holland) walking around his Queens neighborhood in his pajamas, in some sort of haze. My Spider Sense is tingling. It’s telling me that it’s laundry day and, perhaps Aunt May is annoyed at him for putting his chores on hold and never being home (little does she know…), so here he is on his way to pick up the laundry wearing the only clean clothes he has access to. He’s probably deep in thought about the secret situation that’s been keeping him so busy lately.

That’s just me trying to deduce the situation.

What do you think this sequence is about?

Also, here’s a clip of a more traditional Spider-Man variety:

We’ll see what this was all about when Spider-Man: Homecoming, starring Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, and Michael Keaton arrives in theaters on July 7, 2017. The film is directed by Jon Watts.
