Pretty much any day now, we can expect to get the official announcement that Disney has officially acquired most of 21st Century Fox. It’s an acquisition that is a year-plus in the making, and it will certainly send plenty of shockwaves throughout the industry as a whole. For us geeks, it will definitely have quite the effect on the superhero-related content we’ll be seeing for years to come.

This includes both good and bad aspects. Of course, the good is that the likes of the Fantastic Four and X-Men can finally be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there is also a bit of bad. As of right now, the scuttlebutt is that many of the projects that were in development at Fox are pretty much being tossed aside — with films like Gambit and Multiple Man being left to die amid the merger. But what about the X-Men film that comics legend Brian Michael Bendis was supposedly working on? Here’s what he had to say on Twitter:

For those who don’t know, Bendis is also working hard at Superman stories over at DC — hence the mentioning of the Fortress of Solitude. While this is indeed cool to hear, we’ll really have to wait until the merger is complete to see what they do. With there being so many moving parts, it’s still very possible his project could be nixed at any point before it gets to any workable state.
