Liv Tyler to star in Ti West’s ‘The Side Effect’

Life is tough when you discover you are pregnant. But, life is tougher when you discover you are pregnant and alone in space.

According to Deadline, actress Liv Tyler signed on to star in “The Side Effect.”

She will play Catherine Rigby, a woman in outer space alone for several months for an experiment for a global pharmaceutical company. During the experiment, she discovers herself to be pregnant as her paranoia and hysteria grew from being stranded in space and with the experiment.

The film will be directed by Ti West. West had directed numerous horror thriller films including “Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever,” “The House of the Devil,” and “The Roost.” At the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, he will debut found-footage horror film “V/H/S.”

“The Side Effect” will be produced by Ted Hope (“21 Grams”) of Double Hope Films and Peter Phok (“The House of the Devil”).

Tyler can be seen in the upcoming comedy drama “Robot and Frank,” which will also star Frank Langella, James Marsden, Susan Sarandon and Live Schreiber.
