Third ‘Hobbit’ Getting A Name Change?
This could mean any number of things and, in my mind, doesn’t necessarily mean that the studio has ditched There and Back Again. It could be for some kind of tie-in, like a video game. But the site does point out that there’s a chapter in the original book called “Out of the Frying Pan, Into The Fire.” It also does sound somewhat “cooler” (or should I say…hotter?), so perhaps the studio is contemplating changing the title to something that has more of an edge?
I still doubt it, though. The movie comes out in 8 months, and knowledge of The Hobbit: There and Back Again is fairly widespread. That brand all ready exists and has momentum. For New Line to suddenly change the name might hurt, rather than help, the film’s marketing.
But what do you think? Do you think New Line is about to unveil a new name? Or is it more likely that you’ll be playing an App game on your smartphone this November where you collect fruit and smack dragons with a stick, called The Hobbit: Into The Fire? Regardless, would this have any impact on you seeing the movie?
