Katherine Waterston may not be the most recognizable name just yet, but she certainly seems to be on the rise in Hollywood. A couple years ago, she was in P.T. Anderson’s INHERENT VICE, and just last year, she acted alongside Michael Fassbender in the STEVE JOBS movie, and she’ll be in FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM later this year. She’s currently dodging Xenomorphs in the movie ALIEN: COVENANT, and now it looks like she’s joined the growing cast of Steven Soderbergh’s LOGAN LUCKY, The Playlist reports.
Waterston will be joining an amazing ensemble cast that includes Channing Tatum, Daniel Craig, Riley Keough, Adam Driver, Katherine Heigl, Seth MacFarlane. The film revolves around two brothers looking to pull off a heist during a NASCAR race. Given that this film has an ensemble cast and involves a heist, it’s quite fitting that it comes from the same director as OCEAN’S ELEVEN.
Waterston’s role is currently under wraps.
LOGAN LUCKY will mark Steven Soderbergh’s first feature film since 2013’s SIDE EFFECTS, after which, Steven Soderbergh threw in the towel as director, stating the job “stopped being fun.” Granted, three years is hardly a retirement, but regardless, it’s great that Soderbergh’s found a project that got him excited enough to return to the director’s chair.
Filming for LOGAN LUCKY will begin this fall.
