Perhaps more than any other film out there, FURIOUS 8 has done an amazing job at chronicling the production of the film and making it available to FAST & FURIOUS fans to consume. Between the almost-weekly videos posted on the official YouTube channel and the social media genius of actors Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, fans salivating over the prospect of a new film have plenty to hold them over before its release next year.
Adding to the already copious amounts of media available online, both Johnson and FURIOUS 8 director F. Gary Gray have posted some content on Instagram which further tease the badassery of Hobbs, Johnson’s fan favorite character.
First up, check out Johnson’s post, which shows Hobbs on the street, walking away from a flipped car, as only Hobbs could. It also comes with the hilarious caption, “The ice man cometh. And he don’t f**keth around”:
A few weeks back, it was revealed that there would be a bit of a twist for Hobbs’ character. Through some unknown circumstance, the agent will find himself behind bars. Is this all a part of the mission that the FAST & FURIOUS crew have to undertake, or is Hobbs legitimately sent to prison on account of his lax interpretation of the law? It’s impossible to tell right now, but from Gray’s post, we can easily assume that Hobbs will be cracking a few bones whilst in said prison.
Check out the video below!
As seen in the video, Gray and Johnson even go so far as to call this the prison scene of all prison scenes. Here’s Johnson’s quote from the video:
“In the history cinema, there have been jail scenes, prison scenes. This is the prison scene of all prison scenes, being directed by the man himself, and we are kicking f**king ass.â€
Will this truly be the prison scene of all prison scenes? Only time will tell.
FURIOUS 8 hits theaters on April 14, 2017.
