While many couples and lovebirds will be going to the theaters to see Fifty Shades Darker on Valentine’s Day, there has been a growing cult of people who enjoy watching horror films on this holiday. If you or your significant other enjoy this type of film and prefer celebrating Valentine’s Day at home, I suggest watching The Tribe.
The Tribe becomes available today on iTunes, Amazon Instant, Google Play/YouTube, Vudu, Xbox Live, Sony PlayStation, and Vimeo on Demand.
The Tribe centers on a family of three young sisters, played by Jessica Rothe, Anne Winters, and Chloe Beth Jones. The siblings live out their days after a pandemic has consumed most of the known world. One day a stranger, played by Michael Nardelli, suddenly shows up; and their world changes in ways they never could have imagined.
The film marks the feature directorial debut of Roxy Shih (“Dark/Web”), she also produced the film alongside Dena Hysell and Brandon Tansley.
Terror Films plans to expand the release in the coming months on platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Roku, I Bleed Indie, Cable VOD, and DVD retailers. Those dates will be announced once they have secured placement.
The Tribe has won multiple awards, including Best Feature at the St. Tropez International Film Festival, Best Feature Director at the Other Worlds Austin Sci-Fi Film Festival and Best Debut Feature at the Toronto Female Eye Film Festival.
The Tribe will also be at the LA Women’s International Film Festival, March 23rd-26th at the Regal Cinema 14 at LA LIVE in downtown Los Angeles. Get more info here.
