Wes Anderson’s latest creative endeavor is on the way — this time in animated form. Like Fantastic Mr. Fox before it, Anderson has returned to the world of stop-motion animation. While any form of animation is amazing in its own unique way, there is something special about the stop-motion art form.
Unlike the other animation styles, stop-motion involves the process of creating real, tangible items, and going through the laborious process of posing them frame-by-frame, until the film is complete. As with any stop-motion film, there is a heavy emphasis on the work that goes on behind the scenes, and in a new featurette from Fox Searchlight, we get exactly that. Check out the video above!

Below is the official synopsis for Isle of Dogs:
“ISLE OF DOGS tells the story of ATARI KOBAYASHI, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.”
Isle of Dogs hits theaters on March 23, 2018!
