John Turteltaub May Direct ‘MEG’
Warner Brothers and Chinese-based Gravity hope to sign director John Turteltaub to save the mega-shark movie MEG.
Eli Roth was previously at the helm, but left the project and there are concerns of being over budget. It was rumored to be near $100 million for production.
The story centers around a 70-foot, 40-ton prehistoric great white shark called Carcharodon Megalodon or simply Meg. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this project has been in development for the past 20 years and began with a book written by Steve Alten.
Turteltaub is best known for the NATIONAL TREASURE movies. He last directed 2013’s LAST VEGAS movie and upcoming TV pilot episode for RUSH HOUR.
