The folks behind The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1 have just released a new viral clip. It’s an address from President Snow (Donald Sutherland) to the people of Panem. In it, he preaches a message of unity, while being flanked by Peeta (Josh Hutcherson).
Watch the clip below, which is also part of a viral website and promotes the hashtag “#OnePanem”:
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1 is adapted from the first half of the epic conclusion of the trilogy of books by Suzanne Collins, and it’s due to arrive in theaters on November 24. The fourth film, Mockingjay- Part 2, will be released next year on November 20. Aside from being one of Hollywood’s hottest franchises right now, the films will be notable because they contain some of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final work before his untimely death last year.
Francis Lawrence is back todirect the two films, after his successful stint directing the second film in the series, Catching Fire. That’s good news for me, since I found the first film, directed by Gary Ross, to be sterile and forgettable. Lawrence, I felt, brought the necessary balance of action, emotion, and stakes to the film.
