For several months now, one of the highest profile fantasy series on the way from any service is The Witcher, based on the Polish novel series Andrzej Sapkowski. The novels have, of course, been adapted into a triple-A video game series, but has yet to face a big or small screen adaptation. This will mark audiences’ first look at these characters in live-action form. But how would it turn out?
The makeup test with Henry Cavill as Geralt seemed less-than-promising, and set videos of awful-looking armor for extras were also pretty disheartening. Of course, there’s always a difference between set images and official ones, so we were withholding judgment until those surfaced…and now they have.
The streaming service has dropped a whole bunch of images, which included Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri. You can check them all out below:
We also have an official poster and the tagline “The worst monsters are the ones we create.”
All I can say is these images have exceeded my expectations overall. The costumes are gorgeous, and while I can’t speak for Henry Cavill as Geralt, I can see he looks sufficiently badass to me.
What do you think of the new images? Do they live up to your expectations? Let us know your thoughts down below!
