‘THOR: RAGNAROK’ Begins Filming on July 4, ‘DEADPOOL 2’ to Shoot Early Next Year
2016 has been one heck of a year for comic book films. Between Marvel Studios, Fox, and Warner Bros, the year is set to have five superhero films. While the market is most definitely saturated, and fans are generally having a great time at the theaters, there is no slowing down in sight. In fact, the forthcoming years are looking more and more crowded as we go on.
One such film on the slate is DEADPOOL, the sequel to the massively successful comedy action film from earlier this year. Given what a surprise that movie was for Fox, it’s a given that they’d fast track the sequel, but where are they in the development phase?
In an interview with Collider, producer Simon Kinberg stated that DEADPOOL screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are hard at work on the script, and they hope to shoot the film some time early next year.
One other film that’s approaching production is THOR: RAGNAROK, the third film in Marvel’s THOR franchise. While the two previous outings had Thor acting solo, in RAGNAROK he will be joined by fellow Avenger Bruce Banner (a.k.a. the Hulk). So when can we expect cameras to roll on the threequel?
According to Gold Coast Bulletin, production on THOR: RAGNAROK will begin in Australia on July 4th. They even revealed a few shots of the sets being built at Village Roadshow Studios in Oxenford.
