Anchor Bay Entertainment Acquires Cursed in Baja

Anchor Bay distributed the iconic Halloween, The Hills Have Eyes, Suspiria, Maniac, and many more movies whose characters haunt our collective nightmares. Sometime around the year 2017 the company ceased to exist. But like Doctor Frankenstein’s Monster they were given a new life in 2024. It’s alive!

Anchor Bay Entertainment’s recent film acquisition is Cursed in Baja. Check out the synopsis below.

In CURSED IN BAJA, Pirelli, an ex-lawman, travels to Mexico searching for the heir to a Los Angeles fortune, while confronting his own complicated past. But what he finds in Baja challenges him to the core.

Thomas Zambeck and Brian Katz, founders of the reborn Anchor Bay Entertainment acquired worldwide rights to the upcoming horror film.

3 From Hell’s, Jeff Daniel Phillips stars alongside You’re Next’s, Barbara Crampton, and The Tax Collector’s, Jose Conejo Martin. In addition to starring, Jeff Daniel Phillips also wrote the screenplay, directed, and produced Cursed in Baja.

“We’re thrilled to bring Jeff and his vision into the Anchor Bay family,” Zambeck says. “CURSED IN BAJA is an intense journey into madness, destined to take its place among the genre-bending classics that have come to define indie film.”

Here’s Anchor Bay Entertainment’s tagline: Uncover, curate and release unique films that leave an indelible mark on the cultural landscape.

Sounds like a spicy horror movie.
