Earlier this week, we reported on a suspicious post from one Carlos Villalobos. The post showed the sound editing bay, with a caption talking about how awesome it was scoring the trailer for Aquaman.
That was interesting enough, but when the post was pulled from Instagram, it pretty much seemed to solidify that it was legit, and that we could be seeing a trailer as soon as early next month. But is that the case? Here was the post:
Could we trust that a guy named Carlos Villalobos — who we’ve never heard as attached to the Aquaman film — was indeed scoring the trailer?
Apparently not. Director James Wan responded to the post, saying:
“Because he has nothing to do with our trailer at all. Don’t know who this dude is.”
So either James Wan is playing coy (probably not) or this guy has pulled a fast one over on us (probably). That being said, there is still a trailer on the way at some point, and while the post has nothing to do with the trailer, with the film set to hit this October, I still think the best time to launch it will be early-to-mid-October.
If Warner Bros. does put out a trailer then, it will allow them to capitalize on their bigger movies hitting before summer. It’ll also help make mainstream audiences aware that the DCEU is still alive and kicking, despite the disappointment of Justice League.
When do you think we’ll get a trailer? Let us know your thoughts down below!
