Bond 25 RUMOR: Helena Bonham Carter Frontrunner For Villain Role
We got a juicy rumor from the folks over at Mirror, but of course, as with all rumors, make sure you take it with a grain of salt. According to the outlet, actress Helena Bonham Carter is the frontrunner to take on a villainous role in the upcoming James Bond film from director Danny Boyle. Here’s what one insider had to say about the deal.
“Everyone thinks Angelina Jolie is going to get the part but bosses want Helena more. At the moment they are just finalising the cast.”
This is actually a big shift for the Bond franchise, if true. You can pretty much count the number of female main Bond villains on just a couple fingers, and we have yet to see a main female villain in a Craig film. But, assuming this is the direction they plan on going for the flick, you could do much worse than Helena Bonham Carter.

The actress has been around for decades but is perhaps most recently memorable for her turn as the unhinged Bellatrix Lestrange from the Harry Potter series. While we have no idea what the demeanor of this character is, we know that she can pull off the ridiculously evil aspect incredibly well. But what about Jolie?
While I’d love to see Carter take on this role, Jolie wouldn’t be half-bad herself. However, given that the producers are hoping to see Carter take on the role, I can only imagine that she may be a better fit for what the character is.
Are you excited to see either of these two take on the role? Let us know your thoughts down below!
