In a recent interview star Colin Farrell says he’s still not convinced there will be a The Penguin Season 2. That’s despite there being a real concerted effort from those involved to make that happen. The question, is whether those writing Season 2 can come up with a good enough story to bring everyone back.
Speaking with ComicBook, Farrell seems keen, but he also admits he’s a bit of a pessimist.
“Oh, I don’t know. I have a bit of a, generally speaking, I have a bit of a negativity bias,” Farrell told ComicBook. “Apparently, I’ve been told by various people close to me. So I would say I would bet against, but not by much.”
‘Farrell noted “that the powers that be” have been coming up with “storylines that could justify” another season. The actor also teased how The Penguin leads right into The Batman Part II, saying, “It conveniently worked that the death at the end of The Batman and the devastation within Gotham opened up a power vacuum that then Oz could try and capitalize on.”’

“That was perfect for the parallel eight hours that we had,” he added. “And then [The Batman Part II] will pick up, whatever, a few weeks after the show ended. But I kind of bet against, but not by a wide mark.”
The Batman Part II is set to start filming in the spring, with a release date of October 1, 2027.
I’ll always say the same thing. If someone has a story as good as The Penguin was, I want a Season 2. However, if it’s just a cash in and doesn’t match the original season then I’d rather they just left it alone.
