‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Releases Trailer At SDCC

After years of uncertainty and one of the most talked-about rescue stories in recent Hollywood memory, Coyote vs. Acmeis finally racing toward theaters.

Ketchup Entertainment has released the new payoff trailer for Coyote vs. Acme, the live-action/animated hybrid comedy that brings Wile E. Coyote’s decades-long feud with ACME Corporation into the courtroom. Directed by Dave Green, the film stars Will Forte, Lana Condor, Tone Bell, and John Cena alongside the iconic Looney Tunes characters and is set to hit theaters nationwide on August 28, 2026.

The newly unveiled trailer leans heavily into the absurdity of the film’s premise while embracing the classic Looney Tunes humor that made Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner household names. But this time, instead of purchasing another dangerous gadget and heading back into the desert, the determined coyote decides to take legal action.

According to the film’s official synopsis, after enduring a lifetime of exploding rockets, malfunctioning gadgets, collapsing tunnels, runaway magnets, and countless falls off cliffs, Wile E. Coyote finally decides enough is enough. Convinced that ACME knowingly sold defective products that repeatedly failed him, the self-proclaimed genius uncovers what appears to be a corporate conspiracy and launches an all-out legal battle against the company responsible for his endless misfortune.

Will Forte stars as Kevin Avery, an accident lawyer who joins forces with Wile E. Coyote in the lawsuit against ACME. Standing in their way is Buddy Crane, a charismatic corporate attorney played by John Cena, who represents the powerful conglomerate in what promises to be a chaotic courtroom showdown.

The film’s official logline describes the story as an “unhinged battle” against the profit-driven corporation that has been blowing up the coyote for years, while humorously reminding audiences that “there’s also a roadrunner. And dynamite.”

Barbie screenwriter Samy Burch penned the screenplay, while the story is credited to James Gunn, Jeremy Slater, and Burch. Gunn also serves as a producer alongside Chris DeFaria.

The cast is led by Forte, Lana Condor, Tone Bell, and Cena, with the Looney Tunes icons sharing the spotlight in the film’s blend of live-action and animation.

The release of the trailer comes just ahead of another major milestone for the film. Following its celebrated first look at San Diego Comic-Con last year, Coyote vs. Acme is returning to the convention for its first-ever public screening on Saturday, July 25, giving fans an opportunity to see the long-awaited movie before its theatrical release.

Tickets for the special screening are also expected to become available through the film’s official website this week.

Rated PG, Coyote vs. Acme opens exclusively in theaters on August 28, 2026, finally delivering Wile E. Coyote’s biggest and most explosive scheme yet: suing ACME.
