Deadpool 2: Ryan Reynolds Teases ‘Epic’ Cable

It’s been an enlightening week for Deadpool fans. Over the course of the past couple days, we’ve had just as many pictures of Zazie Beetz’s Domino hit the web. Fan reactions seems to be somewhat negative in regards to her look. Race issues aside, a lot of fans don’t seem too pleased with the fact that the character’s look is different, on any level, from what she looks like in the comic.

But, of course, many also concede that it is just one character, and that it won’t stop them from seeing the film, no matter how it turns out. Deadpool will, of course, also be returning in Deadpool 2, and joining him in this buddy cop-ish romp will be the fan favorite time traveling mutant, Cable, played by Josh Brolin.

Speaking with Fandango, Reynolds teased things to come with Cable:

“I think it’s going to be very interesting. I’ve spent this last week on the business end of many Josh Brolin punches. Both verbal and physical and literal and it’s going to be pretty fantastic. He’s going to be epic. He’s going to be an epic Cable.”

Epic, eh? Sure, that sounds pretty cool, but sadly, at the end of the day, it’s not a lot to go on. In some ways, it implies what I hope for the character — that he takes himself way too seriously, and has Deadpool to help pull out the rug from under him. But more than anything, we’re excited to see what Cable looks like.

Of course, after seeing what the Deadpool 2 production had in store for Domino, a lot of folks are curious about what to expect with Cable. Admittedly, with Cable, they’re already working with an actor who bears a striking resemblance to the character on the comic book page, so there seems to be a lot less work to be done.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters on June 1, 2018.
