Deadpool 2’s David Leitch In Talks To Remake Bruce Lee’s Enter The Dragon

David Leitch is quickly becoming the real go-to action director out there. Between films John Wick and Deadpool 2 (not to mention the countless films he’s done stunt work on), he’s proven just how well-versed he is on making hard-hitting action set pieces. It seemed only a matter of time that he’d venture into martial arts, right? Okay, maybe it’s not the most predictable of moves, but it certainly seems to be a decent one.

According to a new report from Deadline, Leitch is in talks to remake Bruce Lee’s iconic flick, Enter the Dragon, which hit theaters back in 1973, following the star’s death.

It’s not the most obvious film to throw onto the pile of remakes, but it is one I think Leitch is a good fit for. As stated above, he has extensive experience in stunt coordination, and as such, he is well-versed to make this about as realistic as we can expect from an adaptation.

However, given the spirit of that original film, I hope they do the right thing and forego the use of CG and quick cuts in the actual fights, as actually seeing these fights was the real appeal of these movies. One would expect that, with Leitch at the helm, that we could actually let the camera linger because what’ll be on camera will likely be pretty solid — at least that’s my personal hope.

What do you think of Leitch potentially taking on Enter the Dragon? Let us know your thoughts down below, and enjoy the opening credits from the original flick.
