Spider-Man is not going away at Sony Pictures.
Not to mention, it was one of the most anticipated announcements for Sony Pictures at CinemaCon 2025.
Sony made plenty of surprise announcements during the presentation that included the cast reveal of The Beatles films from director Sam Mendes for the untold stories of one of the greatest rock bands, spanning over four movies.
The presentation showed the first trailer of I Know What You Did Last Summer and its anime lineup with Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle and a basketball animated film with GOAT.
Other announcements is with director Zac Cregger on an announcement for a reboot of Resident Evil and Darrin Aronovsky to promote Caught Stealing. Other films during the presentation also included 28 Years Later, Anaconda reboot, and Karate Kid Legends.

Now to the juicy story for our LRM Online readers from CinemaCon.
Unfortunately, it appears the anticipated conclusion to the Miles Morales animated trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, has been pushed back to 2027. The studio wants to present entirely new animations with different styles. It is described that “Miles Morales is a fugitive on the run.”
And the big Spider-Man live-action movie reveal is from Tom Holland, who can’t stop spoiling everything. So, Sony let him introduce the title of the next film as Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Destin Daniel Cretton is on stage to say that there will be a “new emotional story for Spider-Man as they’re working on a new costume and art.” Oh, boy. Spidey just got his new costume.
Regardless, Sony didn’t just present a film slate for the next year, but for the next three years.
