December has arrived, bringing a wave of excitement for Disney fans as Mufasa: The Lion King makes its big-screen debut on December 20, 2024. Disney has unveiled “Music of Mufasa” featurette and exhibition posters to celebrate the film’s impending release. Also, Walt Disney Records has announced that the original motion picture soundtrack will drop on December 13, with both songs-only and deluxe versions available for pre-add and pre-order now.

The soundtrack showcases the genius of Grammy®, Tony®, and Emmy® Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the film’s original songs. Miranda collaborated with Grammy-winning producer Mark Mancina and contributed additional music alongside iconic South African composer and performer Lebo M. “The Lion King has an incredible musical legacy with music from some of the greatest songwriters around, and I’m humbled and proud to be a part of it,” Miranda shared. “It’s been a joy working alongside Barry Jenkins to bring Mufasa’s story to life, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience this film in theaters.”
