Emilia Clarke Defends Nudity On Television

Actress Emilia Clarke, who has bared all on HBO’s Game of Thrones more than once, has had just about enough of the nudity naysayers. The actress recently spoke with People and gave her thoughts in the subject and expressed her love for the seres The Handmaid’s Tale.

“I’m starting to get really annoyed about this stuff now because people say, ‘Oh, yeah, all the porn sites went down when Game of Thrones came back on,’. I’m like, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale?’ I f—ing love that show, and I cried when it ended because I couldn’t handle not seeing it. That is all sex and nudity. There are so many shows centered around this very true fact that people reproduce. People f— for pleasure — it’s part of life.”

Clarke is correct, being naked is a part of life, though some are still uptight with it when seen onscreen. I think traffic being down at the porn sites is more a testament to how good the show is than people tuning into see nudity. If folks would rather be told your story, than see naked people, you have something special. Sure, Game of Thrones has its share of naked people, but let’s be real, the big attraction there is the high drama.
