The Fast and Furious franchise may have just recently taken a bit of a detour with the upcoming Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw film, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, but don’t think for a second that Universal is ready to the mainline entries in the franchise out to rest just yet. As it turns out, the film will be in front of cameras again soon enough.
But where, oh where, will the film be shot? These flicks tend to be real international affairs, so there are likely to be several countries in the mix, but thanks to USA Production News, we now have two locations for the impending street-racing sequel:

As mentioned above, I wouldn’t be surprised if these weren’t the two main locations, but I do think it’s a bit funny that one location is a city and the other could potentially encompass a whole state and several islands. Who knows, maybe they will be hopping from island to island in this entry of the franchise.
One exciting thing is that Justin Lin, the man who drove the franchise into the ground with Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift and then quickly resurrected with three fun films is back in the saddle again for at least one more film (and the scuttlebutt is that he’ll be back for the 10th film as well).
