First Look At ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ Unveiled

Fans of Disney Channel’s beloved “Wizards of Waverly Place” have reason to celebrate as an in-production first-look at the highly-anticipated sequel series, “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” was unveiled. The sneak peek aired during the premiere of “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” offering viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the upcoming series that is set to premiere later this year on both Disney Channel and Disney+.

The preview featured never-before-seen footage and BTS moments with the series’ lead cast, including David Henrie, reprising his iconic role as Justin Russo, and Janice LeAnn Brown, who joins the franchise as Billie, a young wizard-in-training. Adding to the excitement, Selena Gomez, who not only returns as the fan-favorite Alex Russo but also serves as an executive producer, makes a special appearance in the first episode. Fans were also thrilled to see David DeLuise back in action as Jerry Russo, the patriarch of the magical Russo family.

“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” takes place years after the original series, following an adult Justin Russo as he navigates life as a normal, mortal father. When his sister Alex shows up seeking his help with a new wizard, Billie, Justin is forced to revisit his magical roots. Balancing his duties as a mentor while maintaining his family’s safety and the secrecy of the Wizard World, Justin embarks on an adventure that will resonate with both new viewers and longtime fans.
