Freakier Friday Soundtrack Drops Ahead Of Fan-First Screenings

Disney is cranking up the volume on nostalgia today with the release of the official soundtrack for Freakier Friday, the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved 2003 body-swap comedy Freaky Friday. Released by Hollywood Records, the new soundtrack is now available and packed with all-new recordings from the film’s cast, a fresh take on fan-favorite songs, and an energetic original score from composer Amie Doherty.

Among the standout tracks is a powerful new version of “Take Me Away,” the iconic Pink Slip anthem from the original film. Produced by Suzy Shinn (Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Dua Lipa), the track features vocals by returning star Christina Vidal Mitchell, reprising her role as Maddie, the fierce frontwoman of the fictional band. Also on the album is a bold cover of “Ultimate,” performed by Juno Award-winning Canadian rock band The Beaches, injecting a modern edge into the cult-classic tune.

Fans of Lindsay Lohan won’t be disappointed, she returns not just to the screen, but to the mic. Lohan performs three tracks on the album, including the original duet “Baby” with co-star Julia Butters and an acoustic solo version of the same song. “Baby” was written by Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Sarah Aarons, whose credits include hits with Zedd and Alessia Cara.

Tracklist for Freakier Friday Original Soundtrack:

  2. “Better Than the Last One (Ella)” – Chantry Johnson

Directed by Nisha Ganatra, Freakier Friday reunites Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan as Tess and Anna Coleman, now facing a whole new level of family mayhem. Years after their infamous identity swap, Anna is now a mom herself, navigating life with a daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter. But when the universe throws them another curveball, the Colemans must once again walk a mile in someone else’s shoes literally.

The film features an ensemble cast including Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, Vanessa Bayer, and Mark Harmon. Produced by Kristin Burr, Andrew Gunn, and Jamie Lee Curtis, with executive producers Nathan Kelly, Ann Marie Sanderlin, and Lindsay Lohan, Freakier Friday is inspired by the original book by Mary Rodgers.
