HBO Max is giving fans the opportunity to join the Green Lantern Corps with an immersive experience at San Diego Comic-Con International 2026.
In San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, HBO Max transformed a building into the Lanterns Training Headquarters for an interactive training camp and a first look at the inaugural debut season of Lanterns.
The activation is inspired by the setting of Rushville, Nebraska, as a guided training journey to receive a briefing from the Guardians. Then the fan will go through a series of interactive challenges to see whether they have what it takes to wear the ring. The hands-on experience will include target practice, trust-based challenges, maze navigation, and escape room-style mystery scenarios set in a Sheriff’s office and a dive bar. At the end of the journey, there will be a custom Green Lantern ring to take home and a Snapchat interactive mirror to simulate the Green Lantern ring. Also, there will be exclusive Lanterns exclusive merchandise for purchase from Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.
The kicker is to reserve a spot for the Lantern Training Headquarters, as spots will be very limited. The sign-ups will be opened on Monday, July 13 at 9 a.m. PT at hbomax.com/laterntraininghq on a first-come, first-served basis. All guests must be 18 years old or older to enter.
The experience takes place at the Venue 808, 808 J St. in the Gaslamp District.
Here is the schedule of the event:
*Thursday, July 23: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
*Friday, July 24: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
*Saturday, July 25: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Also, HBO Max will partner with local businesses at various locations in the Gaslamp District for more swag giveaways and Lanterns phone recharge stations.

In anticipation of Lanterns on HBO Max, a panel will be hosted in Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The panelists will include Kyle Chandler (Hal Jordan), Aaron Pierre (John Stewart), Garret Dillahunt (William Macon), and Poorna Jagannathan (Zoe), with the co-creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. It will present some exclusive first-look, never-before-seen clips and behind-the-scenes discussions.

This new series follows fresh recruit John Stewart and Green Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery.
Lanterns is set for streaming on HBO Max starting August 16.
