James Gunn Teases Progress On Unnamed DCU Films And TV Series

In a recent interview DC Studios boss James Gunn teases progress on some unnamed DCU films and a TV series. Gunn spoke with GQ recently and had this to say regarding what comes next in the DCU.

Check it out,

“Right now, there’s actually two really cool film scripts that I’m hoping to take to the next level that we have general plans for, and I’m excited about both of those. And then I’m excited about one TV project in particular. I don’t know why we’re not greenlighted on that already… it’s just figuring out the budget. So there’s a couple of things that are very present that I’m excited about. Dealing with getting *Supergirl* into shape, all these other things.”

So there’s a TV series ready to get greenlit once the budget is agreed. What that could be, I have no idea, but I see lots of fans speculating on that rumored Jimmy Olsen anthology series. As for the movies, we could be looking at anything from Batman: The Brave and the Bold, to Wonder Woman, to Swamp Thing at this point. Or, even a few unmentioned, but rumored.

I know the main crux of Gunn’s interview dealt with Peacemaker‘s latest episode. However, It will be later tonight before I check it out, so I skipped those sections. As normal, I’ll have my Peacemaker review ready for Monday.

Next up for the DCU is Supergirl in 2026 and then Clayface later that year. 2027 will see Gunn’s own Man of Tomorrow. However, one would expect DC Studios wants at least one other DCU film in 27′. Maybe even more, if scripts are ready in time?

What do you think as James Gunn teases progress on some unnamed DCU films and a TV series? Thoughts, or speculation below.
