A reboot of a series that I happen to feel is one of best of all time, The Twilight Zone, will be premiering, oddly, or perhaps appropriately enough, on April 1. Academy Award winner Jordan Peele is behind the reboot. Not too long ago, Peele branched out from what he was best known for, comedy, and tried his hand at the horror genre with Get Out which won him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. It turns out Peele is just as adept at scaring audiences as he is at making them laugh.
Peele should have no trouble bringing us a worthy reboot of Rod Serling’s great series, he seems to have the right mind to head up a show of this genre, and it’s likely at some point his comedic talents will mix in as well.

The original series aired from 1959-1964, and if you ask me was years ahead of it’s time. Sure, maybe the production and even the acting wasn’t the best at times, but it’s all about the writing, the story they’re telling you, and many an episode told you a fantastic story within the alotted 22 minutes. Many of the stories are served with a healthy helping of irony, and some with a level of creepiness that wasn’t thought possible in the late 50s and early 60s.
