Josh Brolin Thinks He Could Have Done Better As Cable

Josh Brolin is having one of the best summers an actor could ask for. First playing the biggest villain the Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen so far, and a few weeks later appearing as the time-traveling thorn in Deadpool’s side, Cable. And that’s not all for the actor, his newest film, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, releases nationwide today.

Brolin recently spoke with USA Today, and thought he could have done a little bit better with one of his big summer characters, Cable.

“I do like the way it turned out. But I thought I could have been better. But then it clicked. I got to know (Reynolds) better. I trust him more. And we started this volley where it was like, ”his is actually fun. Thank God. Man. I literally want to redeem myself to myself. I want to do a better version of what I do.'”

While I guess there’s always room for improvement, I didn’t find much wrong with Brolin’s turn as Cable. He seemed to fit in well with the rest of the cast, and I thought he played well off of Reynolds. When casting first began for the role of Cable, names like Stephen Lang and even former James Bond Pierce Brosnan were thrown around, and honestly, I would have been happy with either of those actors, but now that the film is out, I think Brolin was the right choice.
