Disclaimer: This post contains spoilers for Wonder Woman.
Right now, Wonder Woman is continuing its successful theatrical run worldwide, and audiences are falling in love with Wonder Woman and the warriors of Themyscira. Of course, Wonder Woman herself managed to be quite the capable and likable entity, but audiences love of her mentor Antiope (Robin Wright) and her mother Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) seems to have taken on a life of its own.
Those who were worried we may need to wait for another standalone Wonder Woman film in order to see them may be in for a real surprise. Speaking with the LA Times, Connie Nielsen pretty much confirmed that we’ll be seeing their two characters in the upcoming Justice League, which is set to hit theaters later this year.
“…[Wright and I] got to do more in Justice League as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well. We can’t say much, but…”

Of course, to those who have seen the movie, this can’t help but raise an eyebrow, as Antiope met her untimely demise in the film. But that’s never fully stopped comic book movies from retaining key characters. In this case, however, I believe this will come in the form of another flashback.
The first trailer for Justice League seemed to indicate that we’ll be treated to a series of flashbacks (we see Victor Stone as a football player, before his Cyborg days). Our assumption is that we’ll likely get a decent flashback for each of the members of the Justice League that can serve as motivations for their actions in the film. For Wonder Woman, it would make sense that her flashbacks would have Antiope and Hippolyta in them.
As for what the flashback could contain…we can only guess.
What do you think? Are you excited to see more Hippolyta and Antiope? Let us know your thoughts down below!
