The cast of Man of Tomorrow fills out as Lanterns star Aaron Pierre joins alongside many returning Superman actors for this sequel. Man of Tomorrow is a kind of sequel to Superman, but it also has proto Justice League overtones. With a villain as big as Brainiac, we wondered what other DC heroes would show up and now we have one name at least.
THR reports that Lanterns star Aaron Pierre will reprise his role as Green Lantern John Stewart in James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow. As per the trade,
‘In brightest day, in blackest night, Aaron Pierre will face the Man of Steel’s might.’
‘Pierre, who is already playing Green Lantern hero John Stewart in HBO’s upcoming DC series Lanterns, is joining the cast of Man of Tomorrow, James Gunn’s sequel to 2025’s Superman.’
‘Gunn wrote the script and is directing Man of Tomorrow, which is due to begin production this summer in Atlanta.’
The trade goes on to name some returning actors from Superman that had not yet been confirmed but were highly likely.

‘The movie is due to bring back much of the cast, Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen) and Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher) among them. Heroes returning include Hawkgirl, played by Isabela Merced, and The Engineer, played by Maria Gabriella de Faria.’
‘Production is scheduled to begin April in Atlanta and go into the summer.’
We are so early in the lifecycle of the DCU that Pierre is the biggest name they could add. It’s been rumored that many of the Supergirl cast, definitely Milly Alcock are due to be in the film. There’s even a chance Peacemaker could show up given that prison planet is likely to be a feature. However, the addition of Pierre means cementing him in place as the DCU’s true Green Lantern. Which of course, could lead to he and Superman being founding members of the Justice League once Batman and Wonder Woman make their entrances to the DCU.
What do you think of Aaron Pierre being added to the cast of Man of Tomorrow? Thoughts below as always.
