The Beginning Of One Show And The End Of Another

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a police sitcom that has been running for 7 seasons. Its 8th and final season releasing after the Tokyo Olympics. The comedy series follows Detective Jake Peralta, played by Andy Samberg, and the rest of his colleagues in the fictional Brooklyn 99th Precinct. Fumero starred in the series as Amy Santiago.

Talking About MODOK

When asked about her audition, Fumero said:

I mean, I wish it was like that cool. It was more like “Here’s an audition to put yourself on tape for a voice thing that we can’t tell you anything about. Go!” And then later I like found out that it was Marvel and that it was Patton [Oswalt] and that it was MODOK. My first reaction was like, “Wait, I think I know that villain,” and I sort of like had the image of him, but definitely had to look him up.

I just thought that take was super fun and fresh to do a show from the point of view of a supervillain, to dive into what his family life could potentially be in this world of villains and supervillains. Then knowing that it was gonna be Patton Oswalt and that he would be heavily involved in the writing of it and creation of it. I was like done. Sign me up. Where do I show up? I know this is going to be hilarious. And it was.

Fumero’s Feelings On Brooklyn Nine-Nine

When asked about work on the last season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, she said:

It’s going. We just wrapped on episode five, so we’re like midway through and we’ve had a lot of kind of misty moments happening on set. I will say, as we all start to think about and talk about the end, it feels really weird to be doing something where like, you know the last day is going to be so sad and you’re probably going to cry a lot. Like you’re like a month away from crying all the time. It’s like a really strange feeling, so we have a lot of moments where it’s like, it’s too soon.

We’re not, we’re not there yet. We’re not there yet and we’re just trying to like have fun, like we’re shooting any season of Brooklyn. It’s bittersweet, but I’m really proud of the show. I’m really proud of this season. I think it’s going to be a really satisfying end, I hope for the viewers. I’m just trying to think of it as like the victory lap, you know, celebrating the show, and celebrating the people I work with. Not trying not to take anything for granted and stay really present.

Honestly, it’s going to be hard for many, like me, when the Brooklyn Nine-Nine series ends. Although, I am looking forward to seeing MODOK.
