New Wave Of Movie Delays – Possiby More To Follow

Yesterday/Today has seen a new wave of movie delays for, 2021. These delays were predicted earlier this week by Variety and sure enough, we have a load of new dates to go through with you for many movies. So far we have no change of plans from Disney, but I would not rule out hearing something from them soon.

So what has moved that we know of now?

Uncharted with Tom Holland has charted itself into 2022, February 11th to be precise. Ghostbusters: Afterlife moves into the November 11th slot. No Time to Die is delayed yet again to October of this year. Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway moves from April to June 11th. Sorry everyone, I know the wait for Peter Rabbit 2 is too much to handle, me too.

Morbius will move from October this year to January 21st, 2022. However, Venom: Let there be Carnage is still set for June this year, and I would not bet against that moving as well. At the moment there is no hint of Spider-Man 3 leaving its December date, but then that would also involve Disney, not just Sony. As said above there is currently no word on Disney delays however the initial report from Variety said to expect Disney moves also. Since this new wave of movie delays has kicked in already I won’t doubt that prediction.

New wave of movie delays

Black Widow has already been delayed considerably but is still currently set for May. Considering this new wave of delays, do we really think Black Widow will release in theaters only in May? Let’s face it, that’s less than four months away and vaccinations across the Globe have barely begun. Ultimately Disney are going to be left with the same choice as always. Delay Black Widow, and the entire MCU slate again, or open in limited theaters with a simultaneous Disney+ release.

I guess we will find out soon enough what Disney does after this new wave of movie delays? In the meantime, there’s no point in getting annoyed about any of this. Still, what movies are you most annoyed to see delayed? Leave your thoughts below.
