A timeless story of faith and courage is coming to the big screen this fall as the first official trailer for Daniel and the Fiery Furnace has been released.
Opening exclusively in theaters across the United States in September 2026, the live-action biblical drama retells one of the Old Testament’s most enduring stories, bringing the prophet Daniel and the miracle of the fiery furnace to life with an epic cinematic scale.
The film stars Mena Massoud (Aladdin) and Elijah Alexander (The Chosen) and is directed by the award-winning filmmaking duo known as The Kooman Brothers, whose previous work includes She Has a Name. The production is produced by The Kooman Brothers alongside Travis Mann, an executive producer on Reagan and I Can Only Imagine, with Massoud also serving as a producer.
Set during the Babylonian exile, Daniel and the Fiery Furnace follows Daniel’s rise within one of history’s most powerful empires as he navigates political intrigue, shifting loyalties, and unwavering faith. At the center of the story is King Nebuchadnezzar’s decree demanding that all people worship him or face death.
When Daniel’s faithful companions, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, refuse to abandon their beliefs, they are sentenced to be thrown into a blazing furnace rather than compromise their devotion to God. Their remarkable act of faith leads to one of the Bible’s most well-known miracles, demonstrating hope, perseverance, and divine protection in the face of overwhelming adversity.
