Rick And Morty – Justin Roiland Would Like To Release An Episode Once A Month

Besides being hilarious and clever, another thing Rick and Morty is known for is long delays. Even before the pandemic put films and television shows on hold, Rick and Morty took months, and sometimes even longer to bring new seasons to our screens.

A while back, show creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon signed a deal with AdultSwim for 70 new episodes. This was followed by talks that fans would no longer experience extended hiatuses between seasons. However, Roiland recently spoke with /Film and his idea for an episode release schedule has fans waiting again, but in a different way, check it out below.

“I’ve been saying we should drop an episode each month, just make it a big event. I like the idea of thinking outside the box with how any show is delivered to the masses. If you do one a month, the show is alive the whole year and you’re still buying us all the time we need to make them as good as they need to be. I’m not saying that’s ever gonna happen, but I have brought that up in the past. That just goes to the point that I have no idea what the plan is for season five. I’m sure whatever it is will be the right decision.”

I actually kind of like this idea. As mentioned above, fans of the show are no strangers to waiting. If this monthly drop could be flashed out and consistent, I think the routine would be something fans would happily embrace. Now, this is just an idea of Roiland’s, and nothing has been confirmed or is in any way official at this point.
