After the first Deadpool became a success, there was high hopes for the sequel. Being that it is Deadpool, the possibilities were endless for a sequel story. While promoting the home release of Deadpool 2 on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ryan Reynolds revealed his first pitch to the studio for Deadpool 2 wasn’t exactly met with open arms.
“My first pitch to the studio was not met very well. I pitched them that for the sequel, the whole story of the movie would be Deadpool trying to steal the big, red chair from The Voice. And they were like ‘That’s just the dumbest thing ever.’ But the second one, it was great because it was always fun to pitch to the studio.”

Ok so that is umm, sort of weird. While it sounds more like a TV-spot for a Deadpool film, had they moved forward with this idea, I think Reynolds and company could have pulled it off. Who would have ever thought the chair from The Voice would be a potential MacGuffin? It’s an off the wall idea that may have been just crazy enough to work, unfortunately it doesn’t look like fans will ever get to see it play out.
