Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Video Takes Us Behind The Scenes Of The Disney Attraction
Like all of you, I grew up wishing I could visit the world of Star Wars myself. Sure, Earth was all well and good, but it didn’t feature any landspeeders or ships to ride around in, nor did it feature any semblance of the Force, as portrayed in the films. If only there were a theme park where I could live out my fantasies…
Well, this current generations of kids sure are lucky, because they’ll be getting just that very soon in the form of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the upcoming Disneyland and Walt Disney World attraction. We’ve seen some concept art and heard some details regarding this new world, but in a new video, we go behind the scenes.

“The experience on Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run puts you straight in that cockpit right behind the controls,” creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering Scott Trowbridge said in the video. “Whether you’re one of the pilots or gunners or flight engineers that are keeping the ship operating, it is going to be an intense, super fun experience on the fastest ship in the galaxy.”
Based on the video, it looks like where you are sitting in the Falcon will mean you’ll have a different role to play in getting it through whatever run it’s going through, which is a cool concept. I wonder if it will make the re-rides better than usual.
One other cool thing is that they know this world of Star Wars is no fun without the war, so they wanted to make sure that the story revolves around the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance. This is especially highlighted in the ride Rise of the Resistance where we will play key roles in the success of the Resistance.
Of course, this is all hyperbole and propaganda straight from Disney, but as a Star Wars fan, I can’t wait to visit.
