The Last of Us was a huge hit for Playstation back in 2013. Enough that there was a sequel released in 2020. As well as a remake of the first game that is scheduled to be released later this year. To grow the franchise even further, HBO has been working on a live-action adaptation of the game that stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
With that said, HBO has dropped an image of Pascal and Ramsey as Joel and Ellie during today’s Summer Game Fest. This came from Neil Druckmann, Co-President of Naughty Dog and co-creator, executive producer, writer, and director of HBO’s The Last of Us. You can check it out below!
Along with that announcement also came another surprise. On stage with Druckmann were Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker. You may know them as the voices of Ellie and Joel in the video games. They announced that they would also be appearing in the HBO live-action series playing characters different from those they voiced in the games. What a great way to keep some of the people that brought these characters to life in the mix!
