Valiant’s Quantum and Woody #1 KLANGS Into Comic Shops Today

“Don’t call it a reboot. We’ve been here for years”.

Today in comic shops everywhere is Valiant Entertainment’s Quantum and Woody #1. After their actual reboot in 2013, the “worlds words superhero team” is back and having more issues than ever! The book is written by Daniel Kibblesmith and the artwork is done by Kano. The book features the adoptive brothers Eric and Woody Henderson. Who thanks to a scientific accident gone wrong, must “KLANG” together their wristbands every 24 hours or be killed by the quantum forces that empower them.

Unfortunately for them, they don’t always see eye to eye, which leads to a lot of friction between the two. Especially after they learn the true fate of their father, which you can read about in the previous Quantum and Woody run, my only hint to you is that there is a goat involved and it gets stranger from there.

This first issue is a little different than most books as it is written in a series of short stories that give readers a good understanding of both Quantum and Woody and why they are in their current situation. They come together nicely in the end for an interesting cliffhanger that sets up the next issue. The artwork by Kano is decent although I dislike the fact that a lot of panels are left without any background.

Overall, it’s a great book for Valiant Entertainment to end the year with. It’s a great jumping on point for the series and it makes you want to go back and read the previous run without giving too much away. Make sure to check it out at your local comic shop soon as it has been reported by Valiant that the first print of this book is sold out at the distributor level.
