Walmart’s Super Bowl Commercials Features Characters And Vehicles From Several Popular Franchises

Yesterday I brought you folks an article showcasing Mountain Dew’s Super Bowl commercial, which featured Tracee Ross Ellis and Oscar nominee Bryan Cranston in a parody of The Shining. Today brings another advertisement made for Sunday’s big game.

While it’s actually a Walmart commercial, it features some famous characters from various franchises including the pug and the coffee aliens from Men in Black, Alex Winter as Bill S. Preston Esq. from Bill and Ted, the aliens from Mars Attacks, along with a short appearance by the U.S.S. Enterprise and two beloved droids from a galaxy far, far away.

This was a nice collection of pop-culture. It also couldn’t have been cheap for Walmart to get permission to use the characters, and it will likely cost another pretty penny for it to air during the Super Bowl. That’s ok though, I’m sure Walmart can cover the bill.

It was a cool commercial, not sure it’s worthy of the Super Bowl commercial hall of fame, but a fine effort nonetheless. I wonder if someday this commercial will be prophetic, I mean, the way things are going, Walmart could very well supply beings from other planets or other times with their everyday grocery and home needs.
