WarnerMedia Streaming Service Labeled With A New Possible Name

Netflix was definitely ahead of the curve, but we can now all see the battle of the streaming services creeping our way. Some of the services coming, or currently available, include: Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV, DirecTV Now, YouTube TV, Philo, AT&T Watch TV, PlayStation Vue, and we also know Disney+ is on its way as is NBCUniversal (taking our beloved The Office) just to name a few.

We can now add WarnerMedia to that list in which TV Line reported that a possible front runner name has been coined: HBO Max.  Current HBO subscribers are automatically enrolled into the streaming service, which is giving it quite the advantage leading into its 2020 release.

TV Line went on to add: “The service, which will bundle HBO, Cinemax and a collection of Warner Bros. properties, will reportedly cost subscribers between $16 and $17 a month.” This pretty much makes the price vicinity competitive with most other streaming services.

WarnerMedia has been in the process of creating their own original content including:  The Flight Attendant, with Kaley Cuoco, Dune: The Sisterhood, a female-led spinoff of the Dune franchise; Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, an animated prequel series and a romantic-comedy with Anna Kendrick called Love Life. Even with their own original content, the service will bring some of their own content currently elsewhere such as The Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, and Friends as well as possibly rebooting, or reviving, some of our favorite TGIF classics such as Family Matters and Step By Step (which would be awesome!!)

Well, there you have it.  Another streaming service to add to the list.  Personally (and I could be wrong like usual) I have a feeling that the streaming services will water each other out.  What was once a cheaper option to cable may eventually amount to the same type of cable prices people were trying to avoid.  Subscribing to numerous services can definitely add up, and would we be adding streaming services just for the sake of a couple of shows?  If so, this is a gripe that many had with cable.  So, will you add the new WarnerMedia service to your list, or will you take a pass?  Also, what do you think about the plethora of streaming services?  Will they water each other out, or do you think one or two will still reign supreme?  Leave your thoughts in the usual spot, and thanks for reading!
