Why Wayne Manor Is Abandoned In Batman v Superman

One of the big problems of Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was that Bruce Wayne didn’t reside in Wayne Manor. I am, of course, kidding. The movie had much bigger problems than where Batman chose to sleep at night. Lately, Snyder, who directed the film, has stolen a page out of Rian Johnson’s playbook and has taken to providing explanations about the film. Snyder took to his personal social media platform, Vero, to clear up why Bruce Wayne lived in the Lake House as opposed to stately Wayne Manor.

“I think his father commissioned the Lake house as a gift to his mother a place built by her favorite architect and she loved it when Bruce turned 18 he moved in he ordered Wayne Manor be left to decompose.”

I make jokes, but it is a fairly large departure from previous iterations of Batman. Wayne Manor has been one of the mainstays, though Snyder decided to break that tradition, and while I think the idea behind it isn’t a bad thing, to me it just didn’t add or take away from the film. I think there were more important things for the director to worry about than a detail such as this.
