If you’ve ever wanted to know what made Dwayne Johnson into the former pro wrestling champion, A-list movie star, and just all-around super awesome dude, you’re in luck. NBC has given an 11-episode order for a series titled, Young Rock, which as you might have guessed will show viewers the early years of the multi-talented megastar.
Not only will Johnson executive produce the single-camera series along with showrunner Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off the Boat), he will also reportedly appear in every episode of the show. The news was announced today by new NBC entertainment chairman Paul Telegdy.

No official release date was mentioned, however, with a series order already a go, it shouldn’t be too long before Young Rock makes its way to our screens. I’ve said a time or two before, I will watch most anything that Johnson is in, however, this won’t be the same Dwayne Johnson we see kicking ass as well as being all-around delightful on the big screen, it’s the story of the factors went into making him the household name he is today.
