Alice Braga continues to be a part of the Dark Matter cast for this second season. The first season was based on the novel by the same title written by Blake Crouch. Meaning for this new phase we will be taken by a ride of surprises by the packed boxed universes.
Synopsis
Hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels and celebrating the 10th anniversary of its release this year, Dark Matter is a story about the road not taken. In season one, the series followed Jason Dessen (Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who — one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago — is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. Season two picks up with the Dessens as they settle into a quiet life in a world that finally seems safe until the unimaginable forces them to run once again. As Jason’s obsession with the Box deepens, Daniela’s (Connelly) growing paranoia pushes her to the brink, threatening to tear their fragile stability apart. Elsewhere, Amanda (Braga) and Ryan (Simpson) join forces in a desperate attempt to find their way home. With Blair (Brugel) determined to stop him, Leighton (Okeniyi) relentlessly pursues his grand vision of creating a perfect world.
The Brazilian actress, Alice Braga is internationally known for her roles in both Brazil and US cinema. One of her popular roles was stepping into Latin America’s popular Teresa Mendoza role for the English version of Queen of the South. Braga is known for other projects like I Am Legend alongside Will Smith, Predator, Repo Man and Elysium. One of her new projects is a thriller, House/Wife with Marty Adams and Gregory Ambrose Calderone.

I was connected with Alice Braga via Zoom the day before the premiere of the second season of Dark Matter. She talked about “Amanda” and how her character may be doing more in depth to get answers. Also the work in keeping track of the various “Amandas” and “Jasons’ in from the multiple worlds. She also discussed her interest in Sci-Fi and the season being based on the novel versus this new season.
