Looks like another critically acclaimed comic book series is coming to Amazon Prime Video. Today Amazon Studios announced that they have ordered the new series Paper Girls from Legendary Television in association with Plan B. This is based on the best selling comic book series from Image Comics that goes by the same name. It is written by comic book visionary and television writer Brian K. Vaughan. Also featuring artwork by Cliff Chiang.
Here is the official description for Amazon Prime Video’s Paper Girls:
Paper Girls follows four young girls who, while out delivering papers on the morning after Halloween in 1988, become unwittingly caught in a conflict between warring factions of time-travelers, sending them on an adventure through time that will save the world. As they travel between our present, the past, and the future — they encounter future versions of themselves and now must choose to embrace or reject their fate.

Paper Girls will feature executive producers Stephany Folsom, Christopher Cantwell, and Christopher C. Rogers who will also serve as co-showrunners. Vaughan and Chiang are also executive producers. The comic book series ran from October of 2015 through July of 2109. Around the end of the run was when the television adaptation was announced.

Yet another great comic book series is headed to television. I will once again get on my soapbox and talk about how we should all support comic books! Most of our favorite television and film productions have started in the pages of some great comic books. Not just from DC and Marvel but from some independent publishers like Image. For the time being check out some of the volumes of Paper Girls at your local comic book shop!
