Marvel Studios today announced, slowly, the cast of Avengers: Doomsday and it’s a big list with a fair few surprises. Now before we get into that large list, lets talk about the reveal method employed by Marvel Studios. I have to say, that may have bene the worst cast reveal I’ve ever seen. Starting with Chris Hemsworth, a series of chair were brought on screen with cast named attached. One name every 13 minutes. Now if you count the names below and multiply that by 13, you get a long blooming time.

I really don’t get it. I think the idea was to build hype by getting to some surprise inclusions slowly. Plus, showing just how big this cast is. I found it a laborious process.
It’s gonna be tough for half of these to get any screentime. However, we’ve been there before with the Russos, and they did pull it off. Whether they will again with Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, who knows?
Avengers: Doomsday production has begun and here is that extensive cast list.
Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Sebastian Stan and Letitia Wright. If that’s not enough we have Tenoch Huerta Mejia, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen and Tom Hiddleston.
Plus, we have a whole load of Fox X-Men returning.
Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romjin, James Marsden and Canning Tatum who first appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine.

As someone who was glad to see the X-Men eventually comes to Marvel Studios, this is kinda not what I had in mind. I was hoping for the rebooted X-Men with a new cast. I think we are going to get that eventually, post-Secret Wars. But I guess they wanted to have this Universe collision thing for the big event movie. Frankly, McKellen and Stewart are getting too old for this, and surely we can do better than James Marsden as Cyclops. Or old man Alan Cumming returning as Nightcrawler?
Still, I’ll see what kind of movie we get before making any judgments.
