Avengers: Endgame Fan Trailer Celebrates The Culmination Of The MCU
Avengers: Infinity War sure was one hell of a payoff. Ten years in the making. Films and characters from different worlds as far away as Asgard and as close as Wakanda crisscrossed and intersected into existence on the movie screen. Ten years ago, fans slurped their cokes in giddy glee as the last of the credits scrolled and revealed the first piece of the ginormous puzzle Marvel intended to assemble for fans on screens a full decade later. “Nick Fury, Director of Shield. I’m here to talk to you about the Avenger initiative.” Cut to black. Fifteen words signaled Marvel was taking a leap and building a world none of us could have expected would have ever been this good.
I didn’t think Marvel would make films this good. I had seen how sequels and world-building had left my favorite hero Blade mangled, how X Men was tarnished with a pop-centric meme reciting brute vaguely reminiscent of the Juggernaut, and how the “Devour of Worlds” was turned into a cloud of super-intelligent nanobots, with a less than thrilling Silver Surfing herald.

To put things in perspective as to how long ago it was. Think back. The Dark Knight’s Heath Ledger left this world on July 18, 2008. Iron Man exploded into theatres on May 2, 2008, where it quickly rocketed up the charts to make number one film, and sweep in an impressive $585 million USD and some change at the box office.
Marvel introduced some of our favorite characters to the big screen, and allowed us to explore unique worlds and see some of the slickest looking CGI battles since Transformers: Dark of The Moon. Sad to say, along with that giant payoff Infinity Wars delivered, Thanos enacted his payment on the Marvel Universe, and the debt was tragically half of all life. Even sadder for a lot of new fans, some of their longtime favorite characters, and even ones they’d just met; winking at you T’Challa, were wiped from the Marvel Universe.
Fans will have to wait until April 2019 to see if the Avengers will be able to undo Thanos’ magical act of balancing out the universe. Until then, check out this fantastic fan-made tease to Avengers: 4.
