Over the last year, fans have seen a few exits from notable cast members of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Both Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan had planned exits from the show, Chandler Riggs, who played Carl Grimes on the show since the beginning of the series, had a somewhat somehwat more troubled exit.
It seems as if Riggs wanted to stay a part of the show, and even made arrangements to allow him to do so, such as enrolling at the University of Georgia as well as buying a house near filming locations. Today Riggs’ father made a Facebook post, in which he stated how Chandler was removed from the show.
“Just to clarify once and for all: Chandler didn’t want to leave the show.”

You can read the full, and lengthy post here. Whatever changed the minds of the bigwigs at AMC moved swiftly, according to Riggs’ father, and Chandler’s character Carl Grimes met his end almost as fast. Carl’s exit form the show did seem sudden, and a bit out of place, it seemed more appropriate Rick would leave or be killed off, and Carl would take his place, but of course that didn’t happen.
Admittedly, the show hasn’u been what was, though this current season is an improvement, it’s been in steady decline over the last couple of seasons, with the many departures, will it ever return to its glory days?
